This document defines the responsibilities, scope, and expectations of the Education Coordinator role at MerciGlobal. This role supports continuous team development by enabling structured knowledge sharing, leadership growth, and experience-based learning.


Role Summary

The Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing short, structured learning opportunities within the team. The role ensures that knowledge sharing is consistent, inclusive, and development-focused, while encouraging all team members to build communication and leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Weekly Education Slot Management (6 Minutes)

Objective: Foster continuous professional and leadership development across the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and maintain a recurring 6-minute education slot within the weekly team meeting. The prepared ppt file should be submitted to Projects Co-Ordinator latest by Wednesday 8pm.

  • Identify relevant growth-oriented topics that benefit both individuals and the team, including:

    • Technical best practices
    • Productivity improvements
    • Communication and collaboration skills
    • Quality and process awareness
    • Leadership and ownership mindset
  • Assign each session to the most appropriate team member based on topic relevance

  • Maintain a structured rotation plan to ensure:

    • Equal participation opportunities
    • One presenter per week
    • Gradual development of presentation and leadership confidence across the team
  • Provide presenters with guidance to ensure:

    • Content is concise and actionable
    • Learning is practical and team-focused
    • The session strictly adheres to the 6-minute time limit
  • Track completed and upcoming sessions to ensure continuity and fairness


2. Experience-Based Training Coordination (Maximum 8 Minutes)

Objective: Transform real project experiences into practical learning opportunities for the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify two key learning events from recent software development activities, such as:

    • Complex technical challenges resolved through strong logic
    • Innovative debugging or optimization approaches
    • Process or workflow improvements
    • Critical incidents handled effectively through teamwork or problem-solving
  • Select up to two team members directly involved in these events to share their experiences

  • Organize each sharing as a short training session not exceeding 8 minutes

  • Guide presenters to structure their session around:

    • The problem or challenge encountered
    • Context, constraints, or risks involved
    • Approach, logic, or innovation applied
    • Outcome and measurable results
    • Key lessons and reusable insights for the team
  • Ensure sessions remain:

    • Practical and learning-focused
    • Concise and well-structured
    • Within the strict 8-minute duration

Planning and Oversight

  • Maintain a learning session calendar covering:

    • Weekly education slots
    • Experience-based training sessions
  • Ensure balanced topic coverage across:

    • Technical excellence
    • Soft skills and leadership development
    • Process improvements and quality practices
  • Gather informal feedback from participants to improve topic relevance and delivery effectiveness
